Emory & Henry’s men’s basketball squad finally grasped its first Old Dominion Athletic Conference win in dramatic fashion on Saturday, topping Hampden-Sydney by a score of 71-69. Terrance Grigg nailed a turn-around floater in the lane with 5.5 seconds remaining to give the Wasps the win.

E&H basketball falls short against Lynchburg

Emory & Henry’s hardcourt struggles continued Saturday against Lynchburg College, as the Wasps suffered a 96-91 loss. A strong first half, during which Lynchburg outscored E&H 62-43, carried the Hornets.

Emory & Henry’s men’s basketball squad lost their seventh straight contest, 89-74 at UVA-Wise on Saturday, December 12.
Point guard J.D. Dyson paced the Wasps with 18 points, made all six of his free throws, and had a team-high five assists. Malcolm Green and Terrance Grigg scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Women’s soccer wins season finale in extra period

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Emory & Henry’s women’s soccer squad finished their 2009 season in dramatic fashion Wednesday with a 2-1 overtime win over the Guilford Quakers. Sophomore Alison Azbell netted the winning goal through three defenders in the extra frame.
