GREENSBORO, N.C. – Emory & Henry’s women’s soccer squad finished their 2009 season in dramatic fashion Wednesday with a 2-1 overtime win over the Guilford Quakers. Sophomore Alison Azbell netted the winning goal through three defenders in the extra frame.

Kellie Flaherty scored E&H’s first goal just over the Quaker goalkeeper’s head with six minutes remaining in the game, forcing the overtime.

Emory & Henry goalkeeper Hayley Poland accumulated seven saves, six of which came in the second half.

Despite the victory, the Wasps (10-8, 4-7 ODAC) will miss out on the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament this season.
